It is very unlikely (as ALF would say: slim and none, and slim is out of town) that Lions Gate Entertainment would release the original non-syndicated episodes on DVD. For them to remaster the originals (or whatever they do to them) to make them DVD quality would take a lot of money, and they would have no chance to make that back with the DVD sales.
To answer your question - yes I would sign your petition. I know that you would get a lot of support with your petition.
